AN UNLIKELY PAIR
My neighbor Michelle came by this afternoon and dropped these off these two whimsical gifts for me. Wasn’t that a sweet gesture? I sure thought so. Here’s the funny thing… They remind me of two birds I used to have. I had a enormous Buff Brahma hen who was always being courted by a really tiny Nankin (bantam sized) rooster. This pair reminds me of those two. He could never breed with her, he was half the length of her back, so she was way too big for him. And mostly she ignored him, so he’d hop around chattering to her, and finally he'd hop up on something so that they were eye to eye to get her attention…just like these two! lol. Perfect.
