i'm only saying this bc of the sleep deprivation and i just saw some always sunny gifset, but a lot of the humor in the sopranos reminds me of iasip. like the strange situations and regular absurdity. also bc so many of the characters in the sopranos are Fucking Shit-For-Brains Morons (like the paddy's pub gang). except while there are next to no lasting consequences (or like. growth) for the main characters (side characters bear the brunt of their shenanigans), the sopranos is like if all those fucked up, violent, deadly impulses and actions were played straight, holds real weight, and never goes away. the idiots are still idiots, the absurd jokes are still there ('pine barrens' is fantastic and funny as hell), but the actions have consequences here. like idk. kevin can go f*** himself, in a way? (*insert 'guy who has only seen [X] watching [Y]: getting a lot of '[X]' vibes from this...' meme*)
