thinking about swapfell soriel yet again and its still not gonna be official any time soon but its becoming increasingly funny to me that the start of it rests almost entirely on the foundation of post-void karma's sheer audacity
like. he meets the extremely cold, detached and cruel queen of the underground, who could easily kill him with just her gaze alone if she felt like it, face-to-face for the first time ever. ok.
and one of the first things this fucking guy decides to say in this extremely rare and risky conversation is that he's surprised that she has such low LV considering her reputation, something that he absolutely should not know and definitely should not reveal but he's still pretty fresh from the void at this point so he really couldn't care less
and obviously she damn near smites him on the spot, but then he says something about how it might be a little hard to kill someone who's already dead (referring to the void & resulting cotard's syndrome)
and then toriel just. fucking snort-laughs. like she just fully loses it bc she mistakes it for a skeleton joke and it's the first time someone's even "attempted" telling her a joke in years and that's how he accidentally becomes the queen's Official Silly Guy
