no one actually understands petunia like. lily was never supposed to die. petunia is the older sister. lily was never supposed to die first. petunia will never know exactly how and why and when and where lily died. she will spend her entire life haunted by that absence. she will spend her entire life waking up at night and wondering if lily was asleep when it happened. she will space out while cooking one day, wondering what lily's last thoughts were. if it had hurt. if lily had thought of her, one last time. she will spend her entire life not knowing and wishing she knew and hating herself for not being able to know. not being able to get answers.
