I seriously am amazed with season 3a of Elementary. The characters are so well done, the many nuances and the careful handling of complex problems, such as Sherlock's sobriety, Kitty's past and Watson's relationship/ romantic nature. I just love the way the writers and everyone else involved have handled these issues.
For example, Sherlock's continued presence at meetings, serving to remind us constantly that he is in fact an addict. Brainattic and the issues surrounding it were arguably more interesting than the actual criminal. Elementary is fascinating because of its core characters and not always because of the mysterious cases.
Seriously, if you're not watching it, please start doing so.
