he watched as the few who were left trickled out , even as he and Liv retreated . his cheeks ached ; he’d had a smile stretched across it for so long that he swore he’d started having trouble speaking not too long ago . any longer , and his entire face would wear out . they never warned against wearing a frown for too long for nothing in this case , the smile was the perpetrator . but Adam was quick , and lost not a second , and the moment everyone had gone and he and Liv were headed away at each other’s side , his smile dropped . the facade was up , and he would hold it no longer than was necessary . ❝ i thought that would never end . ❞
