Count 2 Three ❤️🩹
Ashanti paced back and forth nervously as she waited for the pregnancy test results to load.
Her and Noah had broken up two months earlier but were still intimate with each other.
“Why this shit taking so long, man?” Noah said, picking up the test.
Ashanti smacked his hand and placed the test back down on the bathroom sink. “Stop, Noah! The instructions said it gotta stay flat.”
“This makin’ my stomach hurt,” Noah said dramatically, putting his hand over his stomach.
Ashanti scrunched her face. “How do you think I feel? I’m the one with the late period and mood swings.”
Noah smacked his lips. “Man, gone,” he said, waving her off.
Ashanti plopped down on the toilet, cupping her hands over her face in disbelief at the situation. “What are we gonna do if it’s positive? We’re not even together anymore.”
Noah kneeled down beside her and lifted her chin up. “Look, I’m gonna be here every step of the way, together or not. I promise on everything I love.”
Ashanti nodded her head as Noah’s words reassured her.
Noah pulled her into a hug, placing a kiss on her forehead. “Now come on, let’s see what this test talking ‘bout.”
Ashanti grabbed his hand as they walked toward the sink where the test lay. “Should we close our eyes and count to three?” she asked.
Noah laughed at the idea but then shook his head in agreement. “Yeah, let’s do it.”
“One… two… three,” they said in sync. They then looked down at the pregnancy test that read “pregnant.”
Ashanti stood there speechless, frozen in disbelief.
Noah pulled her into a hug and stared down at her. “Damn, we really finna be somebody’s parents,” he said proudly before pecking her on the lips.
Ashanti nodded with tears in her eyes as she stared up at him in admiration. “I wouldn’t want to experience this moment with anyone else. I love you so much.”
“I love you more. I swear to God, I got you and our baby for life,” he said, rubbing his nose against hers. “Will you be my girlfriend again since I’m your baby daddy and all now?”
Ashanti chuckled at his adorable corniness. “Yes, you can be my boyfriend again, Noah.”
And then there were three.
