It’s ironic that your mom is racist, since she is from minority group. It’s complicate

That is really sad. It’s bad enough when white people fail to examine their privilege on many issues related to race, but it is truly disheartening to see it coming from other POC. Sorry to hear you have to deal with this crap. :(
Not necessarily ironic. The thing about racism is that it thrives off of division, and if you can pit oppressed minorities against oppressed minorities, then they'll be too busy fighting with each other and won't band together against the source of their real problems, which is institutionalized.
An example of this would be the L.A Riots. There was legitimate anger there, but destroying Korean owned businesses was not the best way to express that frustration and anger.
In fact, part of the reason why my parents don't like black people is because of said riots. Even though we live in Northern California, it affected us all the way up here. We aren't Koreans, but we're Asians, and seeing their fellow Asians targeted like that did not sit well with them.
@wannabebatgirl, I'm not surprised. You've told me stories about your mom before, so it's sad that our parents have this in common.
And yes, it is sad to see minorities turning against each other like this, especially considering that we're victims of racism as well, albeit to a lesser extent because we're the 'model minority'.
