thinking about how they screwed over brawford and then i was thinking about how i would have done it differently:

ok so s1 i would’ve kept the same tbh, even with the breakup and everything, bc it would’ve been rushed to have them go so quickly to happily ever after so soon after the s*ttard breakup

then s2 i would’ve kept mostly the same even with the r*chard stuff, except for a couple of changes: first of all brawford still would’ve had screen time, even if it was only focused on their friendship for now (probably the focus esp early in the season would be on getting their friendship back to normal and working through the post breakup awkwardness), and y’know, alex would be treated like an actual character with storylines; second of all the finale would start off the same with the s*ttard stuff, but instead of r*chard coming to paris to see sutton he’s ACTUALLY moved on, and after sutton smashes it at her job she’s actually happy and fulfilled by that rather than it being empty bc she doesn’t have a man  which leads her to realise she made the right decision breaking up with r*chard and make peace with him having moved on, giving her closure

THEN s3 would have sutton moving forward and keep developing brawford friendship, eventually veering back into romantic territory by which time sutton has moved on from r*chard so there’s nothing holding her back this time. maybe some mutual pining and lots of regretful ‘the timing was all wrong’ on sutton’s part, alex’s speech about heartbreak to kat in 3x01 was DEFINITELY drawing on his experience with sutton so that stays and maybe develop that thread some more

and eventually they get back together and it’s great
