Brazil: Natal cancels end-of-year events, Carnival 2021 and imposes more restrictions against Covid-19
The City Hall of Natal issued a new decree on Friday (04), updating health safety rules and restrictions for the fight against Covid-19 in the city. The objective is to strengthen the policy of prevention of the disease. The main measures are the cancellation of this year's edition of "Natal em Natal" (which will have a schedule limited to presentations transmitted by digital tools), the pyrotechnic show scheduled for New Year's Eve on the urban waterfront and the Carnival of 2021. Activities will also be suspended in general that allow large groups of people to meet in public areas.
Published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Municipality, the decree also determines the suspension of parties, shows and commercial events with more than 50 people. Those who have authorization to be held, still according to the new rules, must respect the safety recommendations, such as social distancing, use of masks and 70º alcohol. The restrictions do not apply to bars, restaurants and snack bars that are operating in compliance with decrees already issued previously. The telephone number (84) 99917-0591 will be available to receive reports of infractions.
