About Bre!
Bre Booker is from a small town in Alabama and did a lot of moving around during elementary school until her father accepted a job in Austin, Texas. She went there until her mother's death when she was 12, when she and her father relocated to another small town in Texas and proceeded to do some more moving around until she graduated early and was accepted into Richardson University.
Because of her nomadic upbringing, Bre has a hard time developing real attachment to most people, viewing all of them as transitional as she's usually braced to have to move again at any moment. Also, as with most kids who lost a parent, she has a hard time treating anyone as "permanent" in her life. She has a very curvy body - she had DD's by the time she graduated high school - and it has attracted a lot of attention to her since puberty. As it often happens to "early bloomers", she was labeled a "slut" in middle school once she began to develop quickly, and the reputation has followed her despite her having had surprisingly few partners in her time. She is inherently sexual-seeming but is not nearly as experienced as she likes to come off, no virgin but not the harlot she likes to be seen as.
Her interest in writing began very early - childhood, actually, during which she would often make her own "magazines" to disperse to family and friends. She made her first zine at eleven and actually sold two copies, but her constant moving around kept her from being able to do much in the way of developing it. Instead, she journals regularly, chronicling everything about her life, and has been on several high school newspaper staffs as well as having entered and won many regional writing competitions.
She's had relationships but nothing lasting more than a few months, and she rarely finds anyone she's interested enough in to consider it. She has a curiosity about girls but never found herself having occasion to do anything about it.
Her father had always had a history of suffering from manic depression, but after her mother's death, he became erratic and unreliable, and suddenly, she found herself having to grow up very, very fast to take care of herself. She is an only child, and thankfully, has only had to be accountable for herself.
Much like her father, Bre has a tendency towards depression herself, and suffered from on-and-off serious bouts of self-mutilation in the time before and after her mother's death, when her situation was the most dire. She still carries many well-hidden scars from these years but seems to have stopped in the recent years, perhaps due to her using writing as an emotional outlet.
She worked very hard to get into Richardson University and is hanging all her hopes on the ability to build herself a new life there.
