s a n d w i c h • a r t | when particularly busy, or lazy, my lunch time go to is a simple turkey sandwich, sometimes toasted, usually not, #DukesMayo is a must, as are kosher dill pickle slices, lettuce, and fresh from the vine tomato. If I’m feeling extra, I’ll slice an avocado and if I am feeling like I need some alone time after lunch, I’ll add in some red onions 💁🏻‍♀️. Things don’t get much better, or more comforting than the perfect sandwich, an ice cold soda, and my favorite potato chips, especially on a hot summer day. I love baking sourdough. It seems to me a kind of elemental magic, mixing the flour and water to summon the wild yeast from the air. I would not have believed that such a thing was possible had I not witnessed my own starter bubbling up in the jar. I imagine the wild yeast drifting through the air, glittering, golden and fecund. Watching the sourdough first rise and then round itself into a perfect dark moon in the oven makes me feel that all things are more transmutable than they may otherwise appear. ✨🌚🍞 #sourdough #baking #breadmagic
