that's so cool you went to japan, it mustve been great :o question- did you know how to speak japanese or did enough people there know english¿

gotta thank my school for the trip tbh hhh as for your question, i only know a very limited amount bc us exchange students had to take a course with 40 hours of classes. me and my friend nika were staying with a girl called akie who came to slovenia last year and her english was really good at that time (and even better this year) so we really had no issues with communication. the other students knew less but everyone still got along great bc 70% of communication is non-verbal anyway!!
