Week 6 – Breadth vs. Depth again!!
After I realized how I went straight into depth in one single area of the content of my research, K-12 education system and design thinking that is, and was advised to widen my research and go in breadth as I mentioned before. But now, it seems I went too much into breadth that I feel lost in all the massive amount facts and resources as I kept going wider and wider in the contents of interest. And as Lee (our Thesis class professor) said in our class today, it’s really important for us to keep asking ourselves “why am I interested in this topic?” and “why do I think it’s important and/or fascinating?”. And so, I decided to stop researching for more keyfacts for a while and focus on the areas and topics in my hand by drawing and mapping out new relationships and patterns between them to clarify and identify my fuzzy situation.
The challenge was to try to stay away from assumptions and make sure every connection I made is based on a theory from the recourse I came across.
