Hey. Annoying gender-fluid thing here.
Can we actually talk about gender fluidity past shapeshifters in media? I love Nimona, Double Trouble and Alex Fierro as much as the next gender-fluid person (or thing or whatever… especially alex fierro I love you so much thank you for existing).
Can we get rep eventually that isn’t a shapeshifter? That struggles with medical transitioning due to this?
Can we acknowledge that even with third gender recognition this still forces people into stagnitation and a third binary? Can we acknowledge that sex and gender markers arent accurate and can still cause harm to people especially to intersex people?
Can we talk about having dysphoria both ways? And euphoria both ways (I will not let this post be derailed by trans medicalism)
Can we talk about how a lot of gender-fluid and multi gender people in general arw some of the most hated in the lgbtq community? Can we talk about how people hate when gender-fluid people identify as trans or cis or both? Can we talk about how some gender-fluid people like myself are uncomfortable being shoved into the non-binary umbrella? Because while my gender isnt binary, and it is confusing and defying, it isnt non-binary and there are gender-fluid people who only switch between binary genders.
Can we talk about how not all of us are ok with the following: any pronouns, all pronouns, he/she/they and they/them as the default? Can we talk about how a lot of us when we switch genders actually switch pronouns but even within trans spaces it’s too fucking hard to bother saying anything without people getting defensive and defaulting to whatever your AGAB is assumed to be or they/them?
Can we talk about how people have a hard time with gender because they WERENT always assumed to be their assigned gender at birth? Particularly Black folks? Particularly intersex folks?
Can we talk about how detrans people are often overly hated when a decent amount are non-binary or gender-fluid? Can we talk about how AMAB/AFAB is flawed outside of intersex communities? Can we talk about how TME/TMA gets muddled and doesn’t work well with multi gender and gender-fluid people?
Can we talk about how people’s presentation, pronouns etc doesn’t actually align with gender including gender-fluid people?
GNC people exist within genderfluid people- I am a butch/dyke thing when I’m a woman, I’m a chubby otter femboy thing when I’m a man and other times I have no fucking idea dude. When I’m a girly girl like a femme lesbian I use ey/em. I never use she/her or they/them regardless of my gender but my gender and pronouns and expression is fluid.
Can we acknowledge that most labels that you don’t understand and are confused about can be easily explained by multi gender, gender-fluid people and system folk? And not automatically jump to anti multi gender hate? Lesboy, turigirls, boydykes, etc. Can we actually understand that it’s a spectrum??? Like at all?
Can we actually acknowledge genderfluidity? And all of what that means? We arent your token shapeshifters who don’t exist in real life. We’re real breathing people and in the case of alterhumanity, living breathing creatures.
