BREAKING BAD PILOT NOTES
Just started breaking bad because I’d heard the plot is structurally similar to Shakespeare’s works and I’m only like 6 minutes in but WHY have I not watched it yet
love a good story starting at the end and then going back to how things got there
like IMMEDIATELY minutes in is the first time I’ve seen a character who uses forearm crutches who actually has a name and is important! he is just like me! (also noting using the disabled parking placard when the disabled person is in the car and putting it back in the glove compartment when he’s not)
and then like 10 minutes later we’re seeing a man diagnosed with cancer (and then there’s how he “did everything right but still got sick” which is incredible to explore AND the grieving a diagnosis privately which aren’t usually recognized at all in popular media)
definitely helps that it doesn’t come across as copaganda because the cops are clearly racist assholes who just enjoy destroying lives from the very beginning

Also the moment where Walter gets pissed about the ableism toward his son and we see the rage? YEAH. THAT.
