Do you know that terrifying feeling of knowing that you are about to fall right before you fall?
The time between the realisation and the fall is of just a few seconds so you can't really prevent yourself from falling.
The fall for me isn't as bad as the terror of the knowledge that I am about to fall and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it.
Actually, I am wrong. There is one thing in that second I can manage to do.
I can break my fall.
That's what 'falling in the right way' is called.
It still hurts, but less.
It will give you bruises but won't break any bones.
It's damage control.
But how do you break your fall when you're falling in love?

“Turns the familiar on its head, from basilisk to gingerbread man, and makes you forget, for a few charmed moments, that these aren’t quite the tales you thought you knew.”
—Patricia A. McKillip, author of The Forgotten Beasts of Eld and Wonders of the Invisible World
All of us at Tachyon wish Michael a very happy birthday.
Tachyon’s Particle Books e-book imprint highlights excellent imaginative fiction. The titles, or Particles, include both young adult and adult fiction; subgenres will include science fiction, fantasy, horror, mysteries, and thrillers.
Lovingly-curated, the Particles are a dynamic mix of original, newly-collected, hard to find, and out-of-print material.
Particle Books was named as an homage to the faster-than-light (and as of now hypothetical) tachyon particle, perhaps best known from Star Trek.
Over the next couple of months, the first wave of extraordinary titles from Mary Shelley, Joe R. Lansdale, James Morrow, Jane Yolen, and James Patrick Kelly will hit the virtual shelves.
