my absolute favorite thing is how mtr like perfectly shows the two perspectives and both of them missing each other, and how the narrator understands how both of them feel, to the point of questioning what they had said earlier with "and if you're dead to me why are you at the wake", and "and you can aim for my heart, go for blood, but you would still miss me in your bones" and like the entirety of the song but the point of the song (or at least how i interpret it) is showing that both sides are hurting so so much (tears ricocheting and going off to be felt on the other side) but there's the disconnect (shown in the whole metaphor of death, "and i still talk to you, when i'm screaming at the sky, and when you can't sleep at night, you hear my stolen lullabies) that proves that even though they both love each other, that really isn't enough and for a relationship to continue and to actually work there has to be a sort of ability "to go with grace" or to be able to stop yourself from haunting someone when you don't want to. this is probably so obvious and i'm j dumb but it took me crying to this song for hours on end and finally having a personal connection to the words and understanding the song by living it.
