Being part of the royal guard was his dream, since he was very small. Rei was already of noble blood, but his place in the world was protecting people. It was decided, when he was a young boy. His brother, retired from the royal guard, due to a nearly fatal injury, left the prince without someone to protect him. Apparently, his brother had not socialized with the prince, at all, and simply stayed put outside the door. Rei wasn’t sure, if he should do that. It would be wise to know whom you were protecting, wouldn’t it?
He found himself standing outside the door, much like his brother would. The prince was still asleep, and he had made sure to lock the windows, before taking his position outside of the blond’s door.
