I'm in NE area like you are, and I've been researching possible aussie kennels to go to for my future pup. Do you have any recommendations for good kennels, or warnings for bad ones?

I’m an Aussie snob so I totally have a list of breeders I recommend . I have a few I don’t like I will list them here but won’t go into detail on why I dislike them unless you message me privately . Unless is Laura Liebenow - just look up Justice For Cue and you’ll get it .

Collinswood Aussies (Pants’ Lines, I work for the breeder and know the dogs very well). Hemlock (Marvel’s Lines on his Moms side )

Harmony Hill has some nice dogs but I wouldn’t buy from that breeder as her morals aren’t great. Steer clear of Laura Liebenow aka Headstrong Aussies.

Do your research , ask around , go to shows , and health testing is key!

Thanks for the info :) I totally forgot to mention all that stuff so I'm glad you did!!! We're in MA, though we could pick up a dog probably. It will also probably have to wait at least a year or two or more but I'm looking early. We've had 3 dogs before, including our current one, and my parents both had a lot of dogs growing up, but it would be my first one I'd actually own. I do train our current one though. We've also only ever had "easy" breeds (sporting breeds like Labs, Goldens, Spaniels)

(cont)Setters, etc.) ad mixes so it'd be our first "working" or more difficult/different dog too. But oh that's a good idea about clubs and stuff! I'm not sure why I didn't think of that!

It’s great that you are doing all your research first! I did some browsing for breeders in your area that look like they produce nice dogs. The breeders should have a good idea of what they are planning for each litter and will be able to match up a puppy that isn’t too intense for what you’re looking for. (I don’t know these breeders in RL but have seen them recommended online)

Also if you are able to travel it will open up your options to more breeders. Any of my followers in MA or around there that could recommend a breeder? (I generally follow the guideline from here on finding reputable breeders) :)

Breeder Recommendations

I have had a request for breeder recommendations for someone in North Central FL who is also able to travel or have a puppy shipped. I’ve been doing a bit of digging around looking for reputable breeders in that area, anyone have feedback on these or know of others they can recommend? Looking for more working lines over show lines. (I included some show line breeders that also breed for workability)

Parents are over 2 years of age. Breeding earlier is not in the best interests of the dogs or puppies. Usually both parents are not on the premises because the breeder is the owner of the dam, but photos and/or videos of the sire should be available as should be his pedigree and health information.

The parents' hips and elbows have been x-rayed and certified good to excellent by Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), PennHip, or the German Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhunde (SV). The SV at present does not require elbows to be examined for breeding stock, but may in the future.

Parents must have current registrations with AKC, SV (through USA, United Schutzhund Clubs of America), CKC.

Parents must be approachable, neither shy nor aggressive. Excuses for poor temperament should not be accepted. Temperament can be genetic in nature and fixed in the pups by modeling by the parents.

Clean dog runs or kennel areas with adequate space for exercise and play.

Clear, communicable goals for breeding this litter.

Working titles on parents - Schutzhund, obedience, or other working titles.

As I don’t have any experience with the breeders I mentioned I would recommend doing further research on them and seeing their dogs in person if possible. Any followers from FL that can recommend breeders?
