7 comfort movies ✨
i was tagged by the lovely zoee @gyuniiverse ! thank youuuu ! 😭🌸✨you’re a sucker for romance haha! cuuute! i’m more into ??? y’all will see!
this is going to be hard for me to even choose 7... i’m sorry it turned a little into a movie rec... but it’s my comfort movies rec! haha! 🥰
1. toy story (1994)
just by hearing the first notes of “you got a friend in me”, i get to meet again with the most me there is. that’s comforting! this movie will always be a part of me. it brings out the inner child in everyone that watches it. if you can’t feel it you are a monster. i’m sorry, i don’t make the rules.
2. gladiator (2000)
“what we do in life, echoes in eternity” — hmm... gladiator is not comforting for everyone, but at least it is for me. it’s one of my favourite ever. i’m in love with everything related to greek and roman antiquity, and to me, this one is the most beautiful movie there is. the story itself is sad, yet the epicness, the hope it gives you is... incredible. and, when hans zimmer makes the score for a movie, watch it.
3. the harry potter saga (2001-2011)
“happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” — well what can i say, if i don’t put hp on this list, i’m boo boo the fool, i’m lying to myself, to all of you, your family and your pets.
4. the mummy (1999), return of the mummy (2001)
“it's just a book. no harm ever came from reading a book” — when i’m feeling down, i watch those. i didn’t mention the trilogy because i hate the last one. but you want adventure? and you wanna make sure it has a happy ending? you love egyptian mythology? you want to laugh? just watch it.
5. the lord of the rings trilogy (2001-2003)
“one ring to rule them all and in the darkness, bind them” — with the lotr trilogy, you’re in for a whole fucking journey. i can’t describe it because it wouldn’t pay it good tribute. it’s a must see. AND A MUST READ! everyones agrees that the movies are just as good as the books. it’s rare. one more thing: if they did a trilogy like this today, it would only be nominated at the academy awards for “best visual effects” or such because the academy hates “popular movies”. yet, this trilogy has won 17 oscars (out of 30 nominations) including one for best picture. just watch it.
6. the lion king (1994)
“oh yes, the past can hurt. but from the way i see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” — it’s my all time favourite movie. i’m a disney fan and this, brings out the biggest disney fan there is in me. close to the feeling i get from toy story, but with the lion king, it’s stronger. i can’t describe how much i love it or how much it means to me. i just can’t. but i can tell you how comforting it is to me. and as i said earlier, when hans zimmer makes the score for a movie, just watch.
7. the star wars saga (1977-2019)
“may the force be with you, always” — ain’t that comforting? star wars is... well it’s... y’all know already that i’m bad with words right? not everyone likes sw. but sw is made for everyone. it has its flaws here and there, but in the end, it just makes you want to be hold a fucking lightsaber and pretend that, when the elevator doors open, it’s because you made them open with the Force...
i kinda cheated? since there’s a lot of trilogies/sagas in this? so it’s not 7... lmao! but i’m sorry that’s just how it is! i loved doing this it made me wanna watch those again!
