“SOME WARE” . . #someware #calithornhilldewitt #teenageteardrops #wssf #brendanfowler #blind_aomori . . カリフォルニア生まれ、LA在住のマルチ・アーティストBrendan Fowlerと、カナダ生まれ、LA在住のビジュアル・アーティストCali Thornhill Dewittによるパーティ&レコード・レーベルSOME WARE。 開催されるパーティー、リリースされるTシャツ、そしてミックスやレコードすべてにカタログナンバーが付けられており音楽と言葉とアートがベースとなっているファウラーとデウィットのエネルギーの融合により友人たちと多種多様なコラボレーションをしていく自由な発表の場となっております。 アンダーグラウンド・ロック・ミュージックシーンでカリスマ的人気を誇った言葉とサウンドのワンマンアクトBarrとして活躍していたパフォーマンス・アーティストのファウラーは、2008年以降、印象的な刺繍のデザインが政治的メッセージを放つ「ELECTION REFORM!」をローンチするなど、アート作品創作を精力的に開始します。写真、彫刻、パフォーマンスを額にミックスする彼の「クラッシュ・ピース・シリーズ」は、友人であるVirgil AblohのブランドOff-White SS-17のメンズ・コレクションでコラボレーションも果たしております。 音楽レーベル「Teenage Teardrops」やアーティスト集団WSSFを主催するデウィットは、シニカルなテキストと写真を組み合わせた「プラスチック・サイン・シリーズ」や星条旗にテキストを乗せた「アメリカン・フラッグ・シリーズ」など、次々に象徴的な作品を発表致します。中でも、90年台のLAギャングが故人の弔いのために作成していたTシャツにヒントを得た「メモリアル・スウェット」は、その墓石型の特徴的なデザインと、オールド・イングリッシュ・フォントの大胆さだけでなくそこに込められたメッセージで多くの人々を魅了しており、現在は、カニエ・ウェストのマーチャンダイズのデザインも手がけるなど、多方面で活躍を見せております。 https://www.instagram.com/p/B6igghTpvyb/?igshid=7vteawsnp236
