He wasn't in the best mood. Not an infrequent occurrence necessarily, no, but the fact that he wasn't doing a great job at concealing it was another story entirely. Over the years, Nolan had become quite the chameleon, trading in the rough edges of a working-class upbringing for something a bit more expensive, appealing to the clientele he so desperately wanted to serve. Alas, that night he felt entirely too distracted, keeping close to the bar -- and yet, he still allowed a smug smile to tug at his cheeks as a familiar figure approached. "I know that scowl anywhere," he remarked, having known Breslin long enough to pick her out from a crowd no matter what was covering her face. "Surprised to see you here, Bres. Figured you'd be spending your Saturday night laughing maniacally 'nd slashing public school budgets."
