✨@brettmanningart ✨ Hey there! I’m Brett! I live and work in a perfectly spooky little farmhouse in rural Indiana. As a very excitable introvert, I feel as though I must be living in a dream; few people, lots of animals and nature, bright stars at night, and great expanses of pure nothingness in the surrounding miles! Perfection! I’ll never take it for granted! Earlier this year I dealt with some major health issues concerning my back and I was left completely debilitated for months. My spooky farmer goth life was turned upside down. I learned that I’ve got scoliosis and went through a month of strengthening therapy, ultimately helping my spine curvature enough to be comfortable again and get back to work making art, aka my life. Learning how to manage pain and respect my body by not pushing myself has seriously helped so much! It’s hard to remember to get up and move when you’re so use to sitting and drawing and painting for hours and hours but my lovely dog Fern has literally been acting like a therapy dog in a sense, forcing me to get up and move! She’s the BEST! As for my art, I’m hugely inspired by old traditional line work, surrealist painters, and all things of the natural world really.
