I wanted my gif to tell the story of a flower growing. It starts out as just a seed ad some soil and evolves fro there. My gif shows the different stages of that process.
In designing this, I thought abut two different options. One was to place each image next to each other, and the other was to put them on top of each other. I decided to do the latter to make it look more like a single unit rather than a separate evolution. I cropped the surrounding area of the flower and stacked them. This was the result.
