Because she was so young at the time of her adoption, she didn't remember anything about her birth family. Her adoptive parents refused to speak about the whole situation, always claiming that Hayley was better off not knowing about that part of her life. Soon after turning eighteen, Hayley began searching for her birth family, but what she found left her feeling uncertain and confused. Both her parents were now deceased (due to drug overdoses) but they also had another child: a son. Hayley has since found her brother, but still hasn't made herself known to him.
