Time to watch Shrek the Musical
DWP union boss Brian D’Arcy had his day in court Tuesday and lost. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Chalfant denied the request from D’Arcy and the LADWP union to block subpoenas issued by City Controller Ron Galperi for missing records to account for $40 million in LADWP funds.
Chalfant previously rejected arguments by the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Election Workers) that the missing $40 million belongs to private, non-profits, and that there is no obligation to turn over concealed financial records.
“This is the city trying to manage its departments,” the judge said in a decision three weeks ago.
The judge also rejected IBEW’s request to place a hold on any order while the ruling is appealed.
