I LOVE YOU, I TOLD YOU I DO.
BLACK SAILS & FONTAINES D.C.
One thing I'm really appreciating in my post-tvl disappointment first watch of black sails is how black sails almost never tries to take the easy way out of the conflicts it sets up. Unlike tvl, that just decides that they don't even need to address extremely pivotal moments from the last 2 seasons and just breezes past its own plot for no reason at all, black sails actually commits to the consequences of its own writing decisions (which is like the bare minimum but feels exceedingly rare in tv today), and in a lot of cases the writers seem to be asking "how can we make this situation more complicated for the characters" whereas tvl seems to somehow both not have any stakes at all but also write themselves into so many corners that they've invented a new dimension.
was trying to look up the general history of the pyrates engraving of the real man but nearly started crying with laughter over the suggestions
Who was more obviously bisexual despite not being explicitly bisexual?
John Silver
Jack Rackham
how come every time i tell someone to watch black sails they're always like "oh sorry i only watch one tv show per year and this year it was love island"
the thing about silverflint is once it's made a place in your mind it never leaves you
people talk about flint being ruthless but i think he was way too kind, i don’t care if eleanor was dying i would have told her YES THIS IS YOUR SHITTY HUSBAND’S FAULT!!!!
