Spinetingler Magazine has some thoughts on HAINTS STAY as revisionist western, calling it “a stylistic, dark, moody, modern, revisionist western,” and saying it is, “a product of its time and as such, takes a look at modern issues like gender identity, self-identification, gender fluidity, and characters who are transgender.”
The review also intelligently examines the issue (or problem) of calling HAINTS STAY a western in the first place.
