Okay Tonight's Taken Moved! Beals shines!
And it needed to otherwise interest wanes. Again, Brian needs a female lead that's either in the CIA or an ex. Aja is not cutting it and now, the show is pulling back their camera angles. They're not playing the same as Beals with her love interest. I like Brian saving lives. Tonight he truly was in hero mode. It is needed for him to stay connected as to why he's making all these changes in his life. But Aja is forced. Don't kill her off just take her off. No chemistry, intensity, stage presence, their scenes just become muddled. Beals Christina, was a powerhouse! This show needs her otherwise it's nothing. Standen is great but he could never steal the thunder from Beals. The show rightfully moved forward with Christina having Brian assassinate people within the government provoking a terrorist threat. That was epic. Brian emerged as one slowly but surely moving into Christina's mindset fighting for the greater good. Christina's cancer scare, raw, emotional, her struggle to reveal her possible health condition to her boyfriend, "will you be my emergency contact?" Gorgeous. That man is a keeper. "I can't lose you." He knows something's wrong, supports her no questions asked. That's a man. Beals is wonderful in these scenes, and easily piques the viewer's interest. So, tonight was great! We had a kidnapper, a former hero who turned on his country, and a steely Christina in the middle of it all. Characters grew, stories moved, but Aja needs to go. Next week looks even better. Keep it coming...I see signs of improvement.
This looks good. Curious about the pilot review but so far I like what I see...it's got a Hero's Journey written all over it.
