House hunting was one of the worst experiences that Briar had been through. Mostly because it felt like it was never going to end. As she was looking at the listings they had to visit today, sitting at a table at Wish You Were Beer, Briar wondered what was taking Atticus so long to get back here. They were trying to not be homeless sooner rather than later and she was concerned that he was not going to show and she was going to have to go through this alone. Until noticed a familiar aura walking in the door. Thank gods he showed up. “You’re late,” Briar called from her table, leaning back and raising an eyebrow at her platonic soulmate. “I think this one is promising,” Briar said, pushing the laptop towards him with a smile.

Before being kidnapped, Briar had met and bonded with one of her brothers that had just arrived on the island. He had a mutual love for drinking that she couldn’t ignore. So when she found Maxwell down in Ivy’s club, she had barely reached him before she was throwing her arms around the man. “Please tell me you didn’t get arrested. Or do, I wanna hear all the shenanigans I’ve missed out on.” If anyone could get themselves into more trouble than Briar herself, it was her older brother.

Briar was not used to being out yet. After several months locked in a purgatory only the Nyx kids were aware of, she wanted nothing more than to enjoy as much fresh air as she possibly could. Besides, Atticus was off dealing with the morning show and staying home alone was not her favorite thing to do at the moment, even if that meant leaving her pet goat, Mally, alone. As she made her way down the sidewalk, her head lifted towards the sky for a brief moment as she let the sunlight filter down on her, she turned her attention towards the familiar building she couldn’t bear the thought of walking into without Rhys being there: Dew Drops. It was almost as if he were standing there behind the counter. After a second look, Briar realized that he were in fact inside and she nearly tore the door off the hinges as she stood in the lobby. “What a sight for sore eyes, my friend.”

Briar was not used to being away from Finn for very long. Since he had ended up in purgatory, Briar had spent most of her time with him, mostly because it seemed Finn did not like letting her out of his sight. So after things had settled, Briar found herself waltzing through his apartment door, happy to find that it was unlocked. Not even bothering with a greeting, Briar made her way to his kitchen and leaned against the counter with a huff. “So my landlord rented out our apartment. We were put back there and Atticus nearly got his head taken off by a startled redhead. Any chance that a bank is going to take ‘I was kidnapped’ as a reason not to have an income for the last six months? If not this house hunting is going to stop very quickly.” Worst case, Briar knew that she would have been granted her father’s estate but she wasn’t exactly looking to have to use that money at all. “So how long did you and Noel cry at the reunion?” Realizing she hadn’t even noticed if he was in the room, Briar’s voice got a little louder to carry through the home, hoping to reach her boyfriend’s ears.

Nightshade was somewhere that she often spent her time. When she had gotten here she expected to see Ivy hiding around here somewhere and was slightly annoyed that the Persephone child was nowhere to be seen. Sitting down at the bar, Briar got out her phone to send a message to any contact that might show up where she was and needed amusement. It was really for everyone else’s sake. Who knew what trouble she could get herself into if she were left alone. Looking up from her phone, she nursed her tequila sunrise as she began to watch the others at the bar. Leaning over to the guy sitting next to her, Briar gestured towards the pair sitting on the other side of the pair. “Five bucks says she’s about to throw her drink in his face.”

If there was one thing that Briar could not deny about herself it was that she could be spontaneous when stressed out. She had been dealing with so much lately that it felt like she could barely breathe half the time. How she had ended up on a farm on the outskirts of Icaria, she didn’t know, but here she was heading back home with a small surprise for Atticus in tow. He was going to love it. Or kill her for it. Only time would honestly tell.
As she unlocked their front door, lightly tugging on a rope lead, Briar looked around for any sight of her roommate. “Atti! I’m home! And I brought the coolest thing with me!” Looking down at her feet, a small brown, black and white goat stood next to her as it looked around the room. At the reappearance of her roommate, Briar grinned and gestured down to the goat. “Isn’t she cute? I bought her from some weird twins on the outskirts of town! Meet our new pet!” This was totally normal. Everything was fine.
