while he had taken a break from working for a bit, in order to watch the game, he had then skipped on the after party in order to close up the shop and prepare everything for the next day. a part of him still didn’t feel comfortable going to places that got too crowded, leaving him without any control who was seeing him or maybe even taking pictures. port briar, it had shockingly turned out, wasn’t quite the safe haven he had hoped for and so he was being careful, avoiding the more risky situations while also trying not to limit himself too much. walking past conan & son’s on his way home, hearing all the loud voices and music from inside, made him wonder about his decision. maybe he should have just tried to go, take the risk. a sigh, followed by a wistful smile in the direction of the pub before he walked on. that was until he almost stumbled over the feet of a person lying on the lawn. “ oh, sorry ! i didn’t see you there. “ he was about to just leave it at that, when he realized just who it was. “ nadia ?! “ it was definitely her, lying on the ground, in the cold and staring at the sky like she had never seen anything like it before. “ are you... stargazing ? “

hi everyone ! we’re really excited to present you our first mixed plot drop & event surrounding whitby university and especially the whitby moose. the aim of this plot drop is to give some new, and exciting context to mention within threads & an event to set some threads in. considering there are quite a few characters who work for the university, are university students, and even for port briar locals, we believe this might be something that makes the town’s lively spirit even a little stronger.
the general gist of the event & plot drop is that the whitby moose, and especially the football team, are facing off against their biggest rivals. the maine black bears are the team belonging to the university of maine, so although this match may not present the biggest athletic rivalry of the season, it certainly represents whitby & port briar pride over the other university. the game takes place in the late afternoon of saturday 27 november. before the actual match, there will likely be plenty of university students wandering the streets of port briar, decked out in full orange & navy gear. alongside them the streets are buzzing with intrigued tourists and ecstatic townfolk who may themselves want to catch the game. after all, anyone who doesn’t know the score may feel a little left out once the afterparty celebrations take off.

TEAMS: whitby university vs the university of maine
KICKOFF: saturday november 27, at 3:30PM
PLACE: murrayfield stadium, port briar
FINAL SCORE: whitby (25) — maine (19)
facing adversity for the first time in weeks, the whitby moose have still managed pull ahead of the maine black bears & successfully continue their six game winning streak. murrayfield stadium burst into cheers the minute the referee signaled the end of the match, chanting the name of the rookie owen medlin, one of the star players this match.
the first and second quarter of the match, the score from both maine based teams is neck and neck. neither team manages to really pull ahead, the play of both teams being relatively balanced and aside from a few spectacular plays, the match seems to have hit a bit of a dead end. no surprise that the score at the halftime mark is a draw in 14 — 14.
third quarter brings a bit more excitement, as both teams seem to turn up the dial on creativity & team spirit. the energy from the whitby moose seems to have been felt by everyone in the stadium, as chants from the crowd become louder & louder throughout third quarter. perhaps that’s why maine quarterback anthony dime seems to lose concentration, compared to his performance in the first half of the match.
it’s an injury in the last minutes of third quarter that turns the game upside down entirely. whitby quarterback & beloved golden boy marco armenta sustained a shoulder injury after a rough tackle, leading the whitby coaches to take him off the field as a precaution. rookie player owen medlin gets his chance to prove himself at what appears to be a real turning point in an important match.
when fourth quarter comes around, the forced substitution comes as a blessing in disguise for the whitby moose. the pressure on top of his shoulders must have been heavy, after all owen medlin surely has some big shoes to fill. still, the youngster quickly becomes the player of the match with only a single quarter to go, as he helps whitby pull ahead from maine with a solid six point margin. the match ends in a score of 25 — 19 in favour of whitby university, who with another win are playing one of their strongest seasons yet.
⟨ ✽ ⟩ PLANNED FESTIVITIES & PARTIES.
conan & sons: in order to support the team, who are among the bar’s best customers, conan & sons is both holding a viewing party during the game as well as the official spot to be for the after party. during the viewing, everyone who didn’t get tickets to the stadium can enjoy having some drinks with the orange and navy clad staff. whenever the whitby moose scores points, it’s also your opportunity to get a free shot. aside from that the bar offers several game day specials, namely two cocktails called end zone ( this one definitely has tequila in it and is bright orange ) and offside ( you guessed right, it’s blue. also less likely to get you drunk immediately ). for the after party, the bar’s owner ciaran decided to use the final score the moose got and all drinks are 25% off, if you show up with a jersey or foam finger or at the very least some face paint. get ready for a wild celebration but don’t do anything you wouldn’t want the whole town knowing about !
hamlin student center: your muse is still missing a jersey ? or perhaps a foam finger ? all the whitby moose fan equipment can be bought at hamlin student center. if you’ve ever wondered where in the heavens all the residents found orange undies, they’re also selling some of those here for your extra bit of luck.
bluey’s diner: bluey’s is decked out in orange and navy as well, inviting in hungry fans and players alike. for the entire day they offer the moose special at a very good price. this contains a mango milkshake, fries and the tackle burger, which can be ordered both with meat or with a meat substitute. the burger is known to be a littly spicy so do keep that in mind. this is the perfect place to combat your gameday munchies, especially once you left the after party.
alma’s: for those who like it a bit more fancy prior to the game, alma’s is there for you. here you can go and have some wine and delicious tapas before the game starts. since the owners are big whitby supporters you might also find your bill lacking a couple of those glasses you drank.
rolling scones: another place that offers game day specials is the rolling scones, where you can not only get very cute moose cupcakes ( yes, they look like a moose ) and homerun buns ( they’re a mix of chocolate and peanut in the filling with a caramel drizzle on top ) but also a cozy place to drink half-off coffee all afternoon.
honey fm: not only does honey fm obviously report on the game itself, they also host the regular betting pool. while they townies do bet on scores and winning teams, this is actually more for charity. everybody who donates ( how much doesn’t matter ) can place their bet and those who got the score margin right in the end get gift vouchers for the local restaurants & stores. whoever gets the score exactly right can win the big price, which includes tickets to the next concert at luxor as well as a voucher for a tapas night for two at alma’s.
