Tips on Choosing Your Wedding Planner - Events By Hala
Hala Snyder has owned Events By Hala for well over a decade ago with the passion of making clients happy. She opened up to us about her business and the wedding and events industry. With some savvy advice for couples who are planning their future wedding to the insight into what it actually takes to produce a wedding.
How should a couple hire a Wedding Planner?
EbH - Always check references. One of the key factors is to trust your planner, so make sure you do your homework to find the best person to plan the most important weekend of your life, so far.
When you set up time to speak to your planner, make sure to bring the key people that will be making decisions throughout the process. This allows the planner to also get the entire vision of the details and the expectations that is important to the family.
What should a couple have planned before they meet with you?
EbH - The most important details in the beginning of the planning stages are knowing the approximate number of guests invited and the month (or actual date) of the wedding. Based on the date and number of guests, a planner can recommend venues and vendors and also give a much better expectation of budget for their special weekend.
Does a planner’s experience and service get undervalued?
EbH - Sometimes there is a misconception that only one planner will be involved in the planning of the wedding weekend. With an experienced team of planners at our company, each client is assured that there are at least three planners working and executing all the details of their wedding.

What unforeseen issues do couples face while planning their wedding?
EbH - Ever heard the saying “too many chefs in the kitchen”? When there are so many people telling you what to do, it’s overwhelming and no one benefits from the stress. Focus on one person (hopefully your planner) to give you the best advise. Plan and count accurately! Make sure you don’t underestimate the number of people that will actually attend your wedding.
