Totally chill if you want to make fanart of this, a headcanon list, a lil discussion, or just let this die in your inbox but: Jeremy Bradshaw's books. His TBR. I can just imagine him sitting in front of his TBR cart and I'm curious about what books you think would be on it :)
Thank you for this suggestion!! Oh please know that you made me go through an ENTIRE rabbit hole of what Jeremy Bradshaw would read!! (and you did make me want to draw a fanart of Jeremy and his never-ending TBR!! I spent hours researching and that was 100% worth it)
*:・゚✧:・゚✧ What would Jeremy Bradshaw's TBR look like? (a headcanon by yours truly) ✧・゚: ✧・゚:*
Let me just be clear on one fact before I share my list: all the books I listed are real existing books, I did NOT use any AI whatsoever to make that list all was done with my silly adhd brain, and I also put the ISBN of the books so in the case of someone being interested to learn more about some of these books, they can easily find it! <3 Also as you know, this is only my headcanon so you can take it if you want, disagree if you want and honestly I'd be happy to see yall's opinions and if you have other books in mind please share!!!
My list is separated into two categories: academia and the non academia ones, I figured it would be maybe too much to separate non fiction from fiction and different genres (and this is not at all just because I suck at making categories obviously /s)
*:・゚✧:・゚✧ Academia books (related to his job obviously as he has to remain in touch with what his peers are writing contemporarily, being a professor obliging + it's not an entire list of what he has read or anything as it's only his current TBR, I know that Jeremy's specialty is the anthropology aspect of Northern American folklore but I do think that he has an interest over the whole question + some fields can always be overlapping):
“The anthropology of religion, magic, and witchcraft (5th edition)”, written by Rebecca L. Stein; Philip L. Stein; Benjamin R. Kracht and Marjorie M. Snipes, 2024, Routledge, ISBN 978-1032572994

“The Oxford Handbook of American Folklore and Folklife Studies”, edited by Simon J. Bronner, 2019, Oxford University Press, ISBN 9780190840617
Let me just say that as a university student myself, if I weren't busy with my own research for my second Masters thesis... I would read some for myself, I got auto influenced there dlkjchjdkl
*:・゚✧:・゚✧ Non academia (fiction and non fiction alike sorry I’m very bad at making categories) books Jeremy would read (or re-read) for his personal knowledge, culture or out of curiosity because he has to stay informed + he always wants to learn things (all books were picked with various reasons that I thought would add or match with Jeremy's character/personality/my headcanons of him and I think it might be too long to explain every single one of them but you can figure most of them out by looking at their synopsis (I can also explain if it's obscure!), but let me just say that Jeremy is woke and proud to be and we all love him for that):
“The Emperor of Gladness”, written by Ocean Vuong, 2025, ISBN 978-0593831878

This is the end of the list! I just wanted to add something about the drawing as I usually do but I figured it would take too much space as a foreword thing ksksksk! so this is a ballpoint pen drawing only, and the ink colour I've used are all on the book spines of his TBR! So pink, red, light green, light blue and purple! I wanted to play with pens again (not at all because I couldn't find anything else to work with /s) and also to see how with a limited palette I could bring variety especially to the skin and hair mostly (and I will spare you the WIP I posted over Bluesky because it was fully in green pen and I had to work to conceal this atrocity sjkhdjsk)
So that's all folks! Thank you so much for adding to the Jeremy Bradshaw shenanigans, thank you for suggesting and asking me stuff this actually means the whole world to me and I'm glad we can all share the passion!!!!! /gen
