Japan Crows ... ... ... Ker... Ra?
Those birds I swear. XD I still hear their haunting calls in the silence sometimes. Still fun adventures with foreign animals. :D
To anyone not in on the joke. I lived in Okinawa, Japan for 6 months and on the first or second day, me and my housemate were visiting a graveyard and standing high up on the hill, I heard a huge, loud, echoey “Ker-.~ah? Ker~ah.” it happened for maybe 3 minutes but I was frozen in horrified fear, because lil me heavily believed in ghosts and read creepypastas every night.
I ran to Nozomi and asked, “What kind of creature was that?!” and I repeated the sound and she went “Oh it’s just a crow”. In which I replied, “That is not a crow. That’s a monster in human form pretending to be a bird is what that is.” it made her burst out laughing.
It wasn’t until months later that I saw one of their crows in Tokyo and it was HUGE. Later on I had gotten close in a park to record this unearthly sound, when the crow saw me, hopped from its perch to the ground, cawing loudly, and started hunting me down, while I quietly screamed trying to run away from it. I still have the recording. XD
Looking back, I honestly think it was playing because it always stayed at least 10 ft away, but was only hopping and flapping its wings. :)
So lesson learned, there is a reason Japanese crows are so much in legends. They are huge, willing to fight you, and make haunting sounds. XD
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Keys. ^_^
