Who is your favourite character in MK? Who is your least favourite?

Choosing my top favorite is very hard, but if I had to choose, I’d say Hanzo, but after he was revived. The whole “vengence” thing when he was a revenant was getting old, and he becomes such a complex and interesting character after he’s brought back. He’s a flawed character, but not in a “Bad Writing Disease” way, but in a “he’s just human” way. I also love how he went from “I lost everything so others should suffer like I did” to “no one should suffer like I did, and I will take in those who have as my family” (referring to when he rebuilt the Shirai Ryu.) He’s also just a generally likeable character after he’s brought back. I could scream about how much I love this dude all day, but I don’t want to go into an unnecessary ramble. Also, I’ve always just felt drawn to fire themed characters no I’m not a pyromaniac

Idk if by least favorite you mean the character I think is the worst or which character, out of my favorites, is the one I like the least compared to the other ones. If it’s the latter, Noob Saibot. His powers are completely badass and he’s super fun to play as but personality wise? He’s a piece of cardboard. He’s also a jerk. I know he’s a villain and they’re supposed to be jerks but...so many people, including me, want a redemption arc for him. Him being completely horrible to Kuai and being...uh...close minded towards Frost feels like a giant slap to the face to fans from the writers. I could go into a whole angry rant about this walking Hot Topic and yet I still love him. Why am I like this.

But if it goes for the character I like the least? Kronika. That’s probably an unpopular opinion, especially considering that there’s characters like Kano, Bo Rai Cho, that one character from the original timeline who’s a rip off of a Street Fighter character who I forgot the name of, etc. The thing is, though, those characters at least don’t have the thing I really hate about Kronika: pretentiousness. Kronika is SUCH a pretentious character. NRS made such a song and dance about her when she was revealed to be the villain of MK11, but it was all talk and no show. And it’s a shame because I love the concept behind her! (Also, she has one of the most creative and horrifying fatalities in the whole series, so she gets a point for that.) But there was no effort put into her being an actually good villain. MK11’s story was already pretentious as sin, but then we got Sans Undertale over here bragging about her New Era and showing no personality whatsoever. So much wasted potential.
