The most heartbreaking trope is when a character is left out despite them absolutely and utterly adoring the people that left them out.
Bonus points if they're celebrating something and the character gets really excited and brings loads of stuff only to find out they weren't invited or it was the event was 'cancelled' Cause noone wanted them there.
I don't care what yall say a character getting real excited for something only to have their heart shattered because of it is the most painful stuff to read.
