Heres the thing, man: You need a tribe.

This romanticism about loners and heroes is trash. MEN DONT SUCCEED ALONE. You need a group to hold you accountable, to show up when you need it, to celebrate with when you win, and to help you protect whats yours. You need an authority that you respect in your life and followers who you can set an example for. Dont work and go home and exist in an isolated bubble with a few fun social friends. Build a clan of people who are in the trenches with you and want to climb to the tops of mountains. Its not easy, but its worth it. Force it to happen, otherwise in 10 years youll be wishing you had.

An ongoing reflection...

The older I get, the more I realize how content I would be to have a farm, love my wife, grow a family, contribute to my church, read books, and grow old.

I'm only 26, but I've lived a fair bit. I've seen some things and done some things that taught me a lot about the nature of life. So, I'm content with peace and an unbothered life.

Unfortunately,

Some people seem bent on bothering. They want to control and abuse and very few people seem to be willing to say "no" in response. I can't sleep at night knowing what's on the line and not doing anything about it.

So, instead, I see a life of training, preparing and equipping ahead of me. Struggling, fighting, and opposing with every fiber of my being those who would enslave my children.

Craving the fields, but called to the frontlines...

Born 80 years too late I suppose.
