Uh, SaturdayStoked Much??? Been checking my mailbox everyday lately, not because it's part of my routine but because I've been hoping my mail-order prize from @theLoveMakersband might be waiting for me.  I'm telling you, me and my friends used to go see these guys play ALLda'Time. There was definitely a dance-rock scene going on back in the Art-School Days but I think THE LOVEMAKERS stood out because their vibe was much more New-Wave and Fun in vibes. Romance never goes out of fashion in film and music after-all... As I hear their origins were much more "Pavement-Style", so they have that more Dreamer-Indie-rock vibe to mix w the pop heavy elements.  LM were on hiatus for quite a while and I saw a couple "Reunion Show" posts sometime ago, now they are back and active playing shows so of course I had to get one of these new tapes they put out. And it looks sweet, going for that New-Wave design look, and both songs are single-worthy w Lisa Light leading the vocals (LM is a duel vocal band, where Scott Blonde and Lisa trade off singing, which is a situation I am very much a fan of). I just woke up from a epic-nap (hey, I was up all night working!), so if I sound a groggy I apologize, and also I whined at the end because I thought I forgot to press record. You can't unwrap a gift twice... I mean you can but it'd be obvious.  Thank you thank you for this personalized note!!!!! If you didn't get an artpiece in yours don't worry, it says "Because you're an Illustrator". And Yes!! I do apprciate the Art Bonus!! Gremlin 3 contributor and slated to return as a regular contributor, @MissKel66 's DARKWAVE GOTHPuNk band @ESSESOakland to transform my studio (apartment) from a comfy Sunday Teahouse into a thundering dungeon of despair. And I'm not complaining. This shit rules. You know those those punk nerds that go to all the shows and know all the bands? Which is honestly a very important creative artifact, especially NOW where the Bay Area is with cost of living so high musicians and artists can barley afford to live there if at all.
