Tori’s Concert Journey: 7/10/01 The Cult Worcester Palladium-Yes, I saw @officialcult in May and I won tickets to see #thecult again in #worcesterma. @monstermagnetofficial opened up for them. Maybe because the show was in Worcester (where it’s forever 1989) the crowd was amazing. #monstermagnet was on fire. My roommate at the time did music reviews for the @digstagramboston and was totally in to drive to the @worcesterpalladium. The Cult was having an off night. Ian was not happy. However, the kicked out a good set but that energy that I experienced during the show in May was not there. 11/20/01 Psychedelic Furs/Echo & the Bunnymen Avalon Ballroom-This was a show where Sarah Hay and I definitely felt like the youngest people in the room. When @officialbunnymen played #bringonthedancinghorses I had tears in my eyes. Of course @pfurs were beautiful. I will always be a fan of #newwavemusic there is something about that era that is timeless. 11/17/01 Superhoney House of Blues Cambridge-Back in the fall of 1995, I met Dan Akroyd. He was in my dorm picking up his bodyguard’s girlfriend who at the time was an Emerson student. He was in Boston filming Celtic Pride and opening the new House of Blues location. At the time of the Superhoney show @house_of_blues_boston was still in Cambridge. Superhoney was a local funk band. Their shows were a huge dance party. For the next year I would go see them live many times. 1/26/02 Alicia Keys Orpheum Theatre-For my birthday that year Shawn Scott bought me tickets to see @aliciakeys The awesome thing about our friendship (and what I miss) is that he was a white gig that wasn’t afraid to be the only white person in the room. Even though some people did a double take as the white boy sang along and danced. That night was one of the highlights of our friendship.
