I gave my review of PatB 2020 in my last post, and I didn’t really mention the main Animaniacs troupe, the Warner siblings. Like I said before, I am not very attached to these characters, I like Pinky and Brain better, but I’ll say my main thoughs on them very quickly:
Liked the first episode, a bit to on the nose with some of their messages though, I liked the “countries of the world” jokes, “Goodnight everybody” is a classic, Wakko is my favorite, Yakko a close second, Dot is meh for me. Pennywise episode was hands down brilliant. I don’t remember any of the other episodes really, I remember the Russian bit, the PatB joke in it had me dead, the French revolution one was alright, I got no clue what to say about the bunny episode. And finally is it true? Does Wakko now have the pronouns of He/They? Cuz that’s awesome, you love to see it!
Now onto PatB... yeah, I know about the ship. Yeah I’m on that boat. Yes, I’ll sink with it. And I know, I’m going to superhell. Pretty bold of you to assume I don’t already have a mansion there, though.
Let’s get one thing clear though. Intense therapy, both of them, I won’t take “no” for an answer. I want Brain to succeed in taking over the world, but with his moral compass intact. None of this burning down a village or splicing and mind controlling people against their will, or bombs for children (seriously what the hell happened episode 8?).
Pinky... love him, but he needs to gain that lovely moral compass and backbone from back in the 90′s. He needs to stop enabling Brain and set him straight when he’s too in-over-his head. But do it in that lovely Pinky way, with love and reassurance, and just being a good mouse.
Only then can this relationship work work and I’ll be able to feel at peace with it, because NO, this shit ain’t flying the coop till it’s healthy and everyone's in a better mental and emotional state. The 2020 reboot is right that things need to change. (Bet, Julia’s gonna come back and set this in motion. also, someone please just give me hope that we’ll one day figure out what happened to future!Brain and also, if he’s our Brains future and not from another dimension at all, what’s to come with these two?)
