I just love how the movie opens okay? Just the idea of our favorite toons with dreams of making somthing bigger than themselves while singing and jumping around on cars is so fun to me. And my brain wouldn’t stfu until I drew it

The opening so perfectly makes the audience enjoy art the way the characters do that you will support their pursuit in achieving their honestly hopeless dreams for the rest of the movie. If you haven’t watched Lala Land already, DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND GO WATCH IT NOW. DO IT FOR THE VIBES

In hindsight this kinda opening works best without the main characters in it bc it’s kinda like the location singing but the thought of cups and mugs going “and someday as I sing this song a small town kid’s come along” itches my brain so right. Idk

I also spent so long on the colors bc I wanted to use a limited pallet but keep the saturated morning vibes and I’m not sure how it turned out. Idk idkidkdidkdik go watch lalaland
