I just found this on youtube and it is some of the most breathtakingly detailed footage i have ever seen of deep sea creatures, ever.

ALSO! THE. PEACOCK SQUID??? LOOKS SO UNREAL! It looks CGI it's just so incredibly detailed. I am in awe.

I am shaking with excitement for what more treasures i may find on their channel, my brain is just gobblin' thus up!

@robotzebra​ submitted: I know that this blog doesn't normally deal with sea-creatures but I thought you might make an exception for this unit of a worm. This is a polychaete worm called Alitta virens also known as a sandworm or a king ragworm. This one, found at the swedish Westcoast, was about 45 cm long.

Fun fact: it's little paddle-like appendages is called parapodia and in addition to using them to move around they also function as gills.

I will absolutely make an exception because I love this long dude. 45cm??? A large friend. Incredible tube. A+ foot paddle gills.

First customer I help at work wants a big piece of playthoas. I pick it up and INSTANTLY know I fucked up.

Probably the largest hairs I've been stung with. Bristleworms don't like hugs. Luckily, vinegar dissolved the hairs completely so there was little pain.
