Ways to recycle your unwanted goods

Thursday the 4th of June we are inviting you come come to Square 4 where you can DONATE, SWAP or SELL your unwanted good. It’s all very simple and it could be your good deed for the day or even the week ! 

Also, the university has a new initiative  !!!

Your University Accommodation is reducing its environmental impact by diverting your unwanted items from landfill to be reused. So, for the first time, this year we will be working with the British Heart Foundation to raise money for a great cause, as well as help the environment.

Colchester Accommodation:

Please put any unwanted items in the British Heart Foundation Charity bag which we will put in your room near the end of your tenancy, or are available from the South Accommodation Office in Harwich Court. The bag can be left in your room for collection. We will also provide boxes in your kitchen for your kitchen appliances/utensils.

Things we need:              

Books and stationery

Clothes and shoes

Crockery, cutlery, glassware and other kitchen equipment

DVDs and CDs

Electrical items

Mobile phones

Pots and pans

Towels

Sports equipment

Clean bedding (duvet covers, pillow cases)

Things that we do not need:          

Pillows and Duvets

Blankets and Cushions

Food items

Sharps (such as knives)

Broken crockery or glassware

Please take care with breakable items when packing your bags and boxes.

Southend Accommodation:

The Students’ Union will be setting up a donation point in the near future. All items will be donated to the local British Heart Foundation shop in town. Further details will be posted once finalised.
