This blog couldn't have gotten to where it is now without all of you. I take serious pride not just in being a brony, but also in making friends. My blog is currently the most important thing in my life. I may not have actual friends in real life, but every follow I get means that someone does care, and wants to show their support. When something special happens in your life, it has a very special effect. not only because a goal has been achieved, but because by letting others know your accomplishments encourages others to achieve their own goals. # Bro hooves up

Hey I wanted to make a serious post about us bronies, and to share something personal that makes a good point as to why I became a brony, and why us bronies exist.

Before I joined the brony fandom, I had no idea what it was. I heard that it existed but I think much of it. During my high school years, I was constantly bullied because I have autism. I was afraid to go to school everyday, and faked being sick just to get away. Then During my last year at high school I met a couple of bronies in my class, and they shared similar stories. Then I asked a question that later made me the brony I am today. I asked “why, why are you interested in a little girls show? It doesn’t make sense.” They told me exactly what happened. And I was shocked, because they both grew up in an extreme family that was religious, and went through some trauma as kids. My story was no different. I thought that we all had a lot in common. So I made the choice to just check it out. I felt like I kinda owed them that much. The episode I watched was twilights kingdom. After the first part I was instantly hooked. I kept watching more and more. It was like watching my favorite cartoon as a kid but more epic, and beautiful. I felt safe, and comfortable, never missing an episode after that. Every Saturday, every season, and I loved it all.

My point here is that there are many reasons why people become bronies. Whether it’s an experience in the past that left them traumatized, or because of bullying, or other reasons, it’s all because the show has friendship, acceptance, and offers a safe place for all who need one. It’s about love, peace, kindness and making friends who will last a life time.

People who judge bronies for being immature because of what the show represents, don’t understand that for much of the fandom it’s a very personal reason for why we watch it. Haters are gonna hate, and they have every right to do so. But haters are just people, like you and me. Both sides exist, and we all have to accept that. But who really knows? Maybe the haters are afraid that if they watch it too, they might like it. But regardless of becoming a brony wether by choice or not, we can all agree that ponies are helping make the world a better place, one person or pony at a time :)
