kudos to all who felt it inappropriate to even broach to issue of Trump's obvious mental instability https://t.co/HDurbrnb4k

Chaos reignsā¦fascist stooge finds his balconyā¦the resistible rise of Donald Trumpā¦bomb crater America finds its Dauphinā¦Hillary Clinton: 10.0 Richter scale failureā¦.the pinko revolt beginsā¦.digging ourselves out of the collapsed gold mineā¦.
This election was a reckoning, a bastard starchild of extant forces, the magnetic fields already bending and shearing the planet. Listen carefully, and you might hear the same fascist baying from country to country - from Japan to the Philippines, India to Russia, from Jerusalem, Athens, Budapest, Paris, London - and now, from New York City.
A weirdly pagan resonance, being picked up around the world on some fascist subterranean frequency - the rumblings of a dark monitor stone, now come to life. And now, this dumb, appalling power, this brute force, unenlightened by conscience, unencumbered by pity, is Americaās destiny.
...
This is all the result of kneecapping any attempt at reform of the system - the reform fails, the pain remains, only now it comes out sideways, through the only permissible path: the far right. Incredible though it may seem, our systems are better girded against a soft left than a hard right. Whether in Europe or America, the elite consensus to destroy any left wingers crazy enough to decry the state of things, in even the mildest terms, exists to preserve what they have now.
Trump should be a wake-up call ā a frightening enough harbinger that the American dream is a dead end, leading only to failure, frustration, and thoughts of revenge.
Donald Trump may not be anyoneās idea of what a Massachusetts Bay Colony pilgrim looks like, but in his unquenchable thirst for accumulation, his animating spirits are not so different from those of our founding fathers. In the same way an entire code can be cracked by exploiting the odd, lone transmission error, Trumpās loud, vulgar, mistake of an existence exposes some truths about America normally ignored. Trump is a particularly diseased victim of a common malady, and, pig-ignorant but determined, he found enough of his fellow sufferers to pose a real threat.
After decades of capitalist assault, Cleveland needs more than a championship. It needs a political alternative.
If Cleveland needs a championship to, in some small way, heal, what broke Cleveland in the first place?
The truth is this: Cleveland, and many American cities like it, has been ravaged, ransacked, and sucked dry by four decades of neoliberal experiment.
This economic devastation did not come out of the sky, or materialize out of thin air, but was a robbery committed by culprits ā culprits who continue to dominate our lives, in industries such as professional sports.
