Dear Evan Hansen (Arena Stage) -- July 10 & August 8, 2015

It's been a really great year for me experiencing new musicals from the ground up, and by far the most impressive and impactful one of 2015 was Dear Evan Hansen. I didn't entirely know what I was getting into when I went to see it besides a great cast and Pasek and Paul music, but I came away genuinely moved and changed. The story touches on real struggles of young people today, and does it with respect and honesty. The magnificent score elevates the show's message and provides a platform for the tremendous cast to truly shine. I can't wait to see how it changes and grows when it steps up Off-Broadway in 2016.
