The Joel Plaskett Emergency - Down at the Khyber Had to pull this classic Halifax record for Canada Day. A staple of my youth was going to Alderney Landing to see Joel and the Emergency play for Canada Day. I usually shy away from any form of nationalism but it's hard not to get sucked in to an audience of thousands watching them tear through "True Patriot Love". This particular copy is an original pressing of the album, signed by the man himself, when I had the chance to interview him for my university radio station. When I gave him this to sign, he said that his manager accidentally sent all his copies to Taz records (the same lot I bought this from) and that he didn't have any more copies. I offered him this one and he said I got it fair and square.
