STATE OF THE NATION

Pleased to say that my piece for Light Grey Art Lab’s “Patches + Stitches” show on July 3 has been finished and shipped to the gallery! Photo to come (as soon as it’s retouched!) Things on the horizon:

-Applying to Ellen Schinderman’s “Put the Needle on the Record” all music themed show opening August 1 in Seattle

-Should hear back by end of June/mid July whether I’ve been accepted into the @irisnectar all female fiber arts show in Boston, also in August

-In a “why the hell not?” twist, applying for the Smithsonian’s annual craft exhibition (because it would just be so insane if i was accepted).

Was asked to participate in a memorial quilt project celebrating influential black ladies over at the Mary McLeod Bethune house in DC! I'll be embroidering a 5x5 square (not sure of who I'll be selecting yet, leaning towards Eartha Kitt right now...) in the next few weeks!

Looks like I may be teaching an embroidery class at West Elm's DUMBO location this summer, either in July or August. Stay tuned for more info!

Treated myself to a new floss organization box since I had to shop for comic con supplies!

i am extremely pleased to announce that i'll be showing work at this year's San Diego Comic Con art show!!!!!!! content/quantity TBD, stay tuned for updates!
