Thanks but sadly that won't work. :( Since technically I got the Torchic in a trade (not really but I guess that's what the game classifies it as when you get something from the mystery gift option) the game won't let you nickname it. When you talk to the name rater he just says like "yep that's a great name" and nothing else, haha.
